Environmental Resource Fair 2022

FreeBring the family for some fun and to learn how to protect the environment.
A variety of vendors will be available to help you learn how to make your community greener, cleaner, and more sustainable. Free community event. Open to all.
We have incredible partners to help make this a fun and educational event for the whole family.
Thank you to our co-sponsors: Cook County Department of Environment and Sustainability, MWRD Commissioner Eira Corral SepĂșlveda, Poplar Creek Library District, Ride Illinois, Streamwood Park District, the Village of Streamwood, Citizens Utility Board, the Schaumburg Monarch Initiative, and Trickster Cultural Center.
The fair will be held in the Poplar Creek Library if there is inclement weather.
Events and activities will include:
- Cook County Department of Environment and Sustainability: Provide a Conserve Cook County pledge form, information on sustainability, and giveaways
- MWRD: Provide compost bags and raffle off rain barrels
- Poplar Creek Public Library: Provide a bibliography of books on the environment and a surprise giveaway
- Ride Illinois: Will be passing out kidsâ activity sheets with puzzles and bike safety questions along with Bike Law Wallet Cards that include relevant laws that pertain to cyclists.
- Streamwood Park District: Will be passing out free litter pickers and reusable bags, along with some hands on activities showing the impact of plastic use/littering.
- Village of Streamwood: Provide information on their Spring SEED event, natural resources in the village, and their bike path study
- Citizens Utility Board: How to save money on your utility bills and installing solar panels on your home
- Schaumburg Monarch Initiative: Learn how to support Monarch Butterflies
- Trickster Cultural Connections: Learn about Native American cultural connections to nature
