Office Practices for COVID-19

In response to concerns with spread of COVID-19 and following recommendations from the CDC and Cook County Department of Public Health, myself and my staff have been working remotely whenever possible since Monday, March 16, 2020, and will continue to encourage and practice social distancing for as long as needed to protect the safety and health of our constituents and communities.

This doesn’t mean we are closed! We are answering all emails and calls as usual. Scheduled meetings will be handled remotely whenever possible or will be rescheduled at a time when it is safe to do so. I am staying in close contact with local, state, and federal partners and will continue to share resources and information with my constituents regularly, responsibly, and honestly. Do not hesitate to reach out to us at (847) 519-7674 or email Kevin.Morrison@cookcountyil.gov.

Likewise, I want to join the call for all 15th District residents to stay home and practice social distancing whenever possible. If you are not yet convinced that social distancing is necessary or believe that you personally do not need to self-quarantine, I encourage you to read this article about how cancelling events and self-quarantines will save lives: https://www.vox.com/2020/3/10/21171481/coronavirus-us-cases-quarantine-cancellation

Please continue to take additional measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 including:

😷Avoid close contact with people who are sick

🤒Stay home if you are feeling sick.

🤧Cover your mouth and nose during any coughs or sneezes

🧼 Take extra care when washing your hands and do so frequently for at least 20 seconds

👩‍⚕️If you show symptoms of COVID-19, your primary care provider should be your first point of contact

🤭 Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth

🧽 Clean frequently touched objects and surfaces often

Stay educated on the symptoms and how to protect yourself and others: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html

Be well and take care of yourself, your family, and your community. As always, it’s a honor to serve the constituents of the 15th District.
